The holiday season is here. If you’re starting to shop for the perfect gift or looking to support local businesses, there are a number of markets and fairs you need to visit this festive season.

Kansas City is full of local designers, artists and entrepreneurs who can help you fill your pre-holiday shopping lists. Whether it’s a Strawberry Swing Market or a children’s fair, there are tons of options to choose from. The best part is that each of these events will help support Kansas City area makers.

“It’s more important than ever to buy local,” Strawberry Swing owner Katie Mabry van Dieren said in a statement, adding that local markets are also a way to give back to your community this holiday season.

Along with all the big vendors and performers who will be selling merchandise at events on the subway, there will also be a few appearances from Santa Claus himself.
