Thanksgiving is right around the corner, and while plenty of turkey sales have already been gobbled up by buyers who pre-ordered their birds in October, there are still options available for those who prefer to wait.
The Newport Daily News called five stores in and near Newport County to see what was available and at what price. While farms like Helger’s in Tiverton have sold turkeys in the past, there are still frozen and fresh birds for sale at the Newport Stop & Shop on Bellevue, the Middletown Shaw’s on East Main Road, the Fall River, Massachusetts, Market Basket on William S Canning Boulevard and, for those who prefer to support local small businesses, at Clements’ Marketplace in Portsmouth and Tom’s Market in Tiverton.
